I see packages of 20 but I want 200 of this item. Can I place a special order?
We are more than happy to supply our customers with bulk quantities whenever possible. Unfortunately, special requests for a large amount of a certain item need to be made at least 3 to 4 weeks in advance. Since most of our supplies come from foreign countries, it takes a certain amount of time for our orders to clear customs and arrive for resale.
I noticed your comment about all the hematite on the market today is 'simulated'. Is your item '8mm Round Genuine Hematite Beads' genuine or simulated?
Nearly all commercial hematite available on the market today is a simulated product despite being advertised as "genuine". Most even have the same, or similar composition. Both the genuine and simulated hematite originate from iron oxide but genuine hematite will leave a red streak against unglazed porcelain while the simulated hematite will leave a grey streak. Hematite is simulated both for cheaper costs to the consumer and also because it is much easier to form into different, detailed shapes. If you look at the holes on simulated hematite, you will see that they are very smooth and even as opposed to the slightly chipped hole edge of genuine hematite. Simon & Schuster's Guide to Gems and Precious Stones says, "... it has been imitated by a ferromagnetic, sintered product, molded to look like engraved stones." While many vendors usually list their beads as "genuine hematite", because we know that most mass produced hematite is man-made, we prefer to pass this information along to our consumers. The simulated and genuine product are so similar in appearance and feel that many vendors, and even some suppliers, might not thoroughly investigate the product and inadvertently mislead their customers. We do not, in any way, wish to mislead our customers so we have posted information to help our customers make informed decisions for themselves.
